Beauty Lee Brewington, age 88 of Autry Mill Rd., Godwin, died on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Beauty was born on December 5, 1931 in Sampson County the daughter of the late H.O. Brewington & Lessie Stewart Brewington and is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Brewington. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Henry Brewington and sister, Lystra Maynor and a son-in-law, William Murdock.
Beauty was a member of Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of the Coharie Tribe and served as the Senior Citizen Queen in the 1990’s.
She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Golden Years Nursing Home as a caregiver to the elderly. She always enjoyed working with the seniors in Cumberland, Sampson and Harnett Counties. She was avid quilter and won many ribbons for her quilts.
During her residence at Day Spring of Wallace she was a “Prayer Warrior” for the other residents of the home.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2271 Autry Mill Rd., Godwin, NC with the Rev. Eddie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn, NC.
She is survived by: her children: Kenneth Brewington & (wife) Mae of Godwin, NC; Joanna Chance & (husband) Stan of Godwin, NC; Henry Brewington & (wife) Veronica of Godwin, NC; Jean Murdock of Fayetteville, NC and Beverly Ennis & (husband) Linwood of Godwin, NC.
13 Grandchildren: Jatanna C. Blackmon, Dorrie C. Johnson, Torrie C. Miller, Shannon Ennis, Daniel Ennis, Kathryn B. Cannady, Megan B. Watts, Leslie B. Jones, Kevin Brewington, Stephen Brewington, Jennifer Murdock, Mackenzie M. Ake & Renee J. McCorquodale
24 Great Grandchildren & 4 Great Great Grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
There will be a visitation Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 12:00 pm – 1:45 pm at Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church in Godwin. Prior to the Service.
Flowers are welcomed but memorials may be made to Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2271 Autry Mill Rd., Godwin, NC 28344.
