Mrs. Strickland was born October 20, 1927 in Sampson County the daughter of the late James Brown and Caddie Tart Brown and is preceded in death by her husband, Luke Strickland. She is also preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Strickland and Bobby Strickland, granddaughter, Tammy Lockamy, son-in-law, Lynwood Baker and daughter-in-law, Bette Strickland.
Mrs. Strickland was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great- great-grandmother. She was a homemaker, who loved to cook and one of her passions was quilting. When you went to Mrs. Strickland’s home, you never left hungry, she invited you to eat. She loved the Lord and attended church regularly as long as her health allowed her to. Mrs. Strickland loved watching television, you never went to her house that it wasn’t playing. She was known to call and check on her friends and family often.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Percy Strickland, Rev. Kevin Strickland and Tom Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Starling Cemetery.
She is survived by: Sons: Ralph Strickland and (wife) Pat of Dunn, NC.
Donnie Strickland of Dunn, NC.
Daughters: Peggy S. Baker of Dunn, NC; Joyce Raynor and (husband) Bobby of Raleigh, NC.
Daughter-in-Law: Marie Strickland of Dunn, NC.
Grandchildren: Michael Raynor, Donna Heinrich, Nicole Wheeler, Tom Strickland, Percy Strickland, Sherry Williams, Monty Strickland, Jeannie Smith, Jill Lockamy, Kevin Strickland, Kelly Strickland and Crystal Gillis.
And many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 3, 2022 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church, prior to the funeral.
