Corbett Hilton Edwards

Corbett Hilton Edwards, age 73, of Erwin died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. Corbett was born on October 5, 1943 in Johnston County to the late Jesse James and Thelma West Edwards and is preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and two grandchildren. Corbett was known as a hardworking man who enjoyed working hard, whether it was cutting wood, collecting items for salvage or just staying busy. Some may say he could get a little grumpy but he always showed love and did love his family and especially the love of his life, his wife of 46 years, Carrie Edwards. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerome Pope and Rev. Tim Cowan officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Mill Church of God Cemetery on Williams Lake Rd. Roseboro, NC. He is survived by: His wife, Carrie Delight Edwards, of the home Daughter: Carrie Jane McElveen and husband Benny of Erwin, NC 2 Sons: James Corbett Edwards and wife Kathryn of Linden, NC Leonard Luke of Coats, NC Grandchildren: Laura, Johnathan, Gabriel, Adriana and Hannah 1 Great Grandchild: Emily Faith 2 sisters: Elgie Johnson of Raleigh, NC and Faye Autry of Fayetteville, NC 1 brother: Willie Edwards and wife Lovie of Erwin, NC The family will receive friends Sunday Evening Oct. 30, 2016 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn and at other times at the home of Carrie Edwards
