Danny Wendell Spell of Dunn, North Carolina departed this life on Sunday, February 2, 2020 in the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, being 70 years of age. He was born on November 2, 1949 in Sampson County to the late Jacob Aster "Sam" Spell and the late Lula Jane "Jimmy" Seals Spell. He was also preceded in death by his brother Jay Spell. Danny was a sports enthusiast. He spent hours running and training for the many marathons he participated in. He was also a competitor in the Senior Games. Danny also excelled in playing badminton and billiards. Danny was also described as an amateur genealogist, and spent many hours discovering interesting facts about his family history. He enjoyed taking drives to Raleigh and visiting North Carolina State University where he would meet up with old friends and maybe hit the gym. Danny was a kind and loving person who was gentle and slow to speak.
Danny leaves behind to mourn his passing his brother: Glenn Spell of Fayetteville and a host of cousins.
A graveside service to commemorate the life of Danny Wendell Spell will be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, February 6, 2020 in the Robert's Grove Church Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Warren presiding.
