She was preceded in death by her father Jose Ortiz.
Left to cherish her memory is her mother Ana Rivera and her dad Hector Rivera; her long time partner Tearance McKinney; her children Natasha Burgos, Evelyn Burgos, Giovanny Evangelista, and Ivan Burgos; her brothers Hector Rivera Jr. (wife Erica), Juan Rivera, and Jose Ortiz; and her sister "Yayi" Ortiz.
Evelyn also leaves behind many Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews.
Evelyn was known to have the heart of a Lion, and was the source of strength for her family. She had an infinite amount of wisdom and love that she shared with her family and community.
A visitation for family and friends for Evelyn will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Cromartie-Miller, 401 W Cumberland St, Dunn, North Carolina 28334.
