Iva Mae West

Iva Mae Johnson West, age 91, of Dunn, departed this life on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Cornerstone Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on May, 23, 1928 in Harnett County to the late Exum Ellington Westbrook and the late Maggie Lee Westbrook Stallings. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Glenwood West; two sons: Michael Johnson and Randy Johnson; brother: Haywood Westbrook; sister: Thelma Williams. Iva loved to fish. She was an excellent cook and liked to eat. She was an avid bingo player and Bible reader and loved to work jigsaw puzzles. She was a gifted musician and was able to play just about any instrument she put her hand to.

Iva leaves behind to honor her legacy, her two sons: Donald Johnson and wife Nancy of Erwin and Scott West and wife Christy of Dunn; grandchildren: Crystal Johnson, Keith Johnson, Charlie Harper, Richard Johnson, Jennifer Tyndall, Rebecca Byrd, Dustin Stephenson and Zachary West; great-grandchildren: Nathan Davis, Madison Davis, Preston Johnson, Zander Byrd, Zane Byrd, Zayden Byrd, Joseph Tyndall, Joshua Tyndall, Jessica Tyndall, Destiny Johnson, William Johnson, Chloe Johnson, Kaylee and Emery; One Great-Great Grandchild; two sisters: Margaret Coats and husband Billy of Coats and Betty Lee of Dunn; Parakeet: Pretty Bird West.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 26, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home and at other times at 401 West J Street, Erwin, NC 28339.

A funeral service to commemorate the life of Iva Mae West will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2020 in the chapel of Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Don McCorquodale presiding. She will be laid to rest in Harnett Devotional Gardens with Zachary West, Keith Johnson, Joshua Russo, Dustin Stephenson, Nathan Davis and Adam Coats serving as pallbearers.
