Joan Lewis Parker

Joan Lewis Parker, age 63, of Dunn died Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh. Joan was born in Dunn, North Carolina on November 17, 1952 the daughter of the late Durwood Dallas Lewis and Betty Jean Morrison, and is also preceded in death by her brother, Terry Byrd. Joan was retired from Harnett County Emergency Services where she served the public as an Administrative Assistant. Spending her early years in Florida growing up, developed her special love for the beach and the ocean. She loved and was a dedicated member of Grace Chapel Church. Many friends and family would tell her she had “Kind Eyes” and her desire to help people and “see” the best in people will always be remembered. Her greatest joy came from being a loving Mother and Mema and spending time with her family. A Celebration of her life will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm, in Grace Chapel Church with Rev. Randy Barker officiating. Burial will follow in the Banners Chapel Church Cemetery. She is survived by: Her Husband: Ronnie Parker of the home 3 Daughters: Amanda Norris and husband Charles Jr. of Coats, NC, Ashley Parker and Andrea Parker, both of Erwin 2 Sisters: Pam Ivey of Coats, NC, and Diane Allison of Vero Beach, Florida 2 Brothers: Gary Byrd of Dunn and Jim Byrd of Coats A Granddaughter: Haley Johnson 2 Grandsons: Caleb Spengel and Maverick Norris The Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, in Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ronnie Parker.
