Brian G. Cannon, managing director of Cobblestone Capital Partners, died Tuesday. He was 56.
He was born in Buffalo and graduated from Amherst High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University and a master’s in finance from Canisius College.
Mr. Cannon, of Amherst, started his career at M&T Bank in 1983 and quickly rose through the ranks to become a district manager overseeing five branches.
In 2000, he started the wealth management division of Dopkins Wealth Management. In 2012, he formed Cobblestone Capital Partners, providing investment advice to individuals, corporations and institutional investors.
Mr. Cannon was known for his quick wit and public speaking abilities. He enjoyed golf, snowmobiling, and flying model airplanes and drones.
Survivors include his mother, Marjorie; two daughters, Lauren and Carolyn; a son, Brian Jr.; three sisters, Colleen Cannon, Pamela Bower and Marjorie Zdrojewski; and a brother, Bill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Newman Center at the University at Buffalo, 495 Skinnersville Road, Amherst.
