Margaret M. Farley

Mrs. Margaret Miriam (Ferguson) Farley passed away on July 19th, 2022. “Maggie” was born July 14th, 1934 in Meriden, Conn. She was a daughter of the late Dr. John A. and Mrs. Frances (Hurley) Ferguson. She was the oldest of 3 children. Mary Elizabeth (Ferguson) Massie, her sister, and John A. Ferguson Jr., her brother are predeceased.

Maggie received her diploma at the School of Nursing of St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, Ontario in 1955. She continued her education at Teacher’s College and Columbia University in New York City to receive her B.S. degree in 1977. She earned her Master’s in 1979 at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Maggie specialized in Geriatric Nursing and served many years as the Director of Nursing for the Erie County Home and Infirmary in Alden, NY. Her last position was that of the Supervisor for Health Services at Moog, Inc. in West Seneca.

Maggie is survived by her beloved children: her son, Gareth Ferguson Farley, her daughter, Sybyl Blake (Farley) Quan and son-in-law Henry M. Quan. She also leaves behind a most cherished grandson, Gareth J. Farley II and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
