I recently learned that Sandy passed away over a decade ago while searching down memory lane on the internet (I guess that is what you do at 77). Sandy was my best friend at Glenbard West from early 1962 to when the Jones family moved back to Buffalo in January 1963. We stayed in touch through the fall of 1963 when I visited Sandy and the Jones family in Buffalo. While there her brother Greg was baptized, and I am his God father! It was reassuring to read the tributes on this page (particularly the one from a year ago by Greg that was very touching) and to know that she had a very full and happy life, although presumably cut short by an illness. The photos were quite interesting with #8 being from the time we were together.  In any event, I thought that this might be a way to reach out and express my condolences that may or may not be seen by anyone.

Sandy,
Hard to believe you've been gone 10 years.  I think of you often and miss your big sister guidance and support.  We were so separated in years that I didn't get nearly the time I would have liked with you at home. You would be so proud of all your children and grandkids.  Everyone is doing so well and living life to the fullest.  Wish you were here to enjoy it as well.  Hope you and Mom and Dad are at peace and keeping watch over all.  I love you and miss you dearly.

My heart is heavy knowing Sandy will be missed by so many! It's been a long time since we've been together, but I remember lots of family & babysitting times  - of course you and Deb were always good! On my last visit to WNY 4 yrs ago I only got to see Eileen & Al, but we talked about many good family times.

Dear Tom, Lisa, Kathy, Suzanne and Tommy;

My dear "big sister" - how I will miss her.  In our early childhood I was the annoying little sister - always tagging along behind her to play with our friends on the block - getting into trouble until we were reluctantly called home by Dad.  Always the cowgirl to her cowboy.  We managed to make some wonderful memories.  I'm so happy that as adults we were to become such good friends - always reminiscing about our childhood in the glorious "Happy Days" of our youth.  Who will I share those times with now?
Somewhat to all our surprise, the boy-crazy girl of her teens turned into a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Living the country life with such perfection and joy - creating a home our family all loved to visit and enjoy our times together - making yet more memories.
I will always miss you sis and will remember you with a smile and the utmost happiness, love and respect. Thank you for our life and times together.
