Alicia Pacheco

Alicia was born on August 12, 1932, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, though her birth certificate records September 18, 1932. A true Leo in spirit, she carried herself with pride and grace—always well dressed, with her hair, makeup, and nails beautifully done, reflecting her dignity throughout her life.

She was born to Isidoro Pacheco and María García, and was the last surviving of her siblings.

As a teenager, Alicia moved to New York, where she met the love of her life, Jaime Ojeda. Together, they returned to Puerto Rico to build their life. In 1980, she relocated to Connecticut with her daughter, Myrian, where she centered her life around family, faith, and love.

A devoted mother, Alicia was the heart of her family—a constant source of warmth, strength, and support. She loved to cook and poured her heart into every meal, and friends and family alike always cherished her cooking. Her home was filled not just with love and comfort, but also with the unforgettable aromas of the dishes she prepared with care.

Alicia had the biggest heart and a deep love for poetry. She will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, and the way she made not only her family, but everyone who crossed her path feel cherished and loved.

She faithfully served her church, 5ta Alfa y Omega Church, as a deacon, elder, and treasurer, and was deeply respected for her humility and quiet strength.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Myrian; her cherished grandchildren, Linda, Kelsey, Natasha, and Gabe; her nine great-grandchildren; and many loved ones.

Alicia’s life came to a peaceful end due to complications of congestive heart failure. Though her absence leaves a deep void, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of Jesus.

She will be deeply missed and forever held in our hearts.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 25 from 4-8pm at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT. Alicia's funeral will be held on Thursday, March 26 at 10am at the funeral home followed by her burial at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, CT.

Con gran pesar y profundo amor, anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestra amada madre, abuela y bisabuela, Alicia Pacheco.

Alicia nació el 12 de agosto de 1932 en Ponce, Puerto Rico, aunque su certificado de nacimiento registra el 18 de septiembre de 1932. Una verdadera Leo de espíritu, siempre se presentaba con orgullo y gracia, siempre bien vestida, con el cabello, el maquillaje y las uñas hermosamente arreglados, reflejando su dignidad a lo largo de su vida.

Fue hija de Isidoro Pacheco y María García, y fue la última sobreviviente de sus hermanos.

Siendo adolescente, Alicia se mudó a Nueva York, donde conoció al amor de su vida, Jaime Ojeda. Juntos regresaron a Puerto Rico para construir su vida. En 1980, se mudó a Connecticut con su hija, Myrian, donde centró su vida en la familia, la fe y el amor.

Como madre devota, Alicia fue el corazón de su familia—una fuente constante de calidez, fortaleza y apoyo. Amaba cocinar y cocinaba con amor, y no solo cuidaba de su familia, sino que amigos y seres queridos siempre apreciaban y disfrutaban su comida. Su hogar estaba lleno del calor de sus platillos, que dejaban un recuerdo imborrable.

Alicia tenía el corazón más grande y un profundo amor por la poesía. Será recordada por su bondad, su generosidad y la manera en que hizo sentir queridos y amados no solo a su familia, sino a todos los que cruzaron su camino.

Sirvió fielmente en su iglesia, la Iglesia 5ta Alfa y Omega, como diácona, anciana y tesorera, y fue profundamente respetada por su humildad y fortaleza silenciosa.

Le sobreviven su amada hija, Myrian; sus queridos nietos, Linda, Kelsey, Natasha y Gabe; sus nueve bisnietos; y muchos seres queridos.

La vida de Alicia llegó a un final pacífico debido a complicaciones de insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva. Aunque su ausencia deja un profundo vacío, encontramos consuelo al saber que descansa en paz en la presencia de Jesús.

Será profundamente extrañada y vivirá por siempre en nuestros corazones.

Servicio

Familiares y amigos podrán acompañar a la familia el miércoles 25 de marzo, de las 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., en la Funeraria Newkirk & Whitney, en la 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT. El funeral de Alicia se celebrará el jueves 26 de marzo a las 10:00 a.m. en la funeraria, seguido de su entrego en el Cementerio Mt. St. Benedict, en Bloomfield, CT.
