

Angela Owusu Afriyie, 34 of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Maxwell Antwi, died Saturday, August 2, 2014 at St Francis Hospital. Born in Kumasi, Ghana on November 26, 1979, she was the daughter of Charity Amponsah and the late Henry Owusu. A caring, godly and kind woman, Angela loved to sing, and most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by 3 children Russell, Jason and Maxine; a brother Dennis Asare; 4 sisters Millicent Boakye, Sylvia Osei-Karikari, Phyllis Owusu and Priscilla Owusu; many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 22, from 4-7pm at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, followed same day by traditional funeral services 8pm until 2am at Casa Mia, Mount Carmel Hall, 30 Olde Roberts Street, East Hartford.
Burial Services for Angela will begin Saturday, August 23, 9am at the funeral home, followed at 10:30am by earth burial in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury.
A Thanksgiving and Memorial Service will be held at the Living Word Outreach Ministries, 1120 Silver Lane, East Hartford on Sunday, August 24, 11am to 3pm.
