

Anita M. Morin, 91, beloved wife of Ulysses “Ted” Morin, with whom she was married to for 63 years, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 17th, 2014 at Emeritus at South Windsor. Born in Caribou, ME to the late Levi and Claira (Sorois) Martin. Anita was a longtime resident of East Hartford. She retired from Security Insurance after many years of service. As a devoted Catholic, she was active in St. Mary Church including in the St. Mary Mothers Circle. She was a caring and loving mother who was cofounder of the Twins Mothers Club of Greater Hartford. She spent her time volunteering for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed ballroom dancing. She was a member of the North End Seniors, AARP and enjoyed frequent bus trips around the country with friends.
Anita will be dearly missed by her 3 sons, Gary Morin and his wife Fran, Carl Morin and his wife Beverly, David Morin and Roxanne; her 6 grandchildren, Brian and Sarah Morin, Michele and Dan Zern, Richard and Kris Morin, Andrea and Kevin Carbonell, Heather and Barry Gallo, Krystle and Frank Sheehan; her 12 grandchildren, Aidan and Lilah Zern, Sophia and Natalie Gallo, Ian, Emma and Audrey Carbonell, Elisa, Robin, Brooks, Brady and Hannah Morin; her siblings, Fr. Malcolm Martin, Lorraine Seiser and Gilman Martin. She was predeceased by her brothers Winfred and Ansel Martin.
The family would like to thank the staff of Emeritus at South Windsor for the loving care given to Anita over the past several years and Friends for Friends, with a special thanks to Dorcas who cared for Anita like she were family. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 21st, from 4 to 8PM, at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108. Funeral Services will begin at 8:30AM on Tuesday, April 22nd, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM, at St. Mary Church, 15 Maplewood Ave., East Hartford, CT. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
