

AnnMarie S. (Mosher) LaPorte, 72, beloved wife of Roland E. LaPorte, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. LaPorte was born in Chicopee Falls, MA, the daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Kozik) Mosher and had been a longtime resident of the Ellington community. Prior to her retirement she had been employed by the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of East Hartford for 25 years. Mrs. LaPorte had been a member of the Ellington Volunteer Ambulance Association for several years. Although she enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and gardening, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren. Along with her husband she is survived by her two sons; David LaPorte and his wife Cynthia of Ashford, Jeffrey LaPorte and his wife Susan of Enfield, and by her daughter, Lori Brunette and her husband William of East Hartford. She also leaves her four grandchildren, Nicole LaPorte, Angela Brunette, Adam and Monica LaPorte. She will be sadly missed by her dogs; Willow and Schultz. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford, on Monday, May 3, at 10:00 a.m. for the procession to St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m.The interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Route 159, Agawam, Mass. Mrs. LaPorte’s family will receive callers at the funeral home on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the John A. de Quattro Community Cancer Center, 73 A Haynes St. Manchester, CT 06040, or Susan G. Komen, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309, or to the donor’s choice.
