

Carmelita (Lita) Feliciano Zaleta, 92, a resident of East Hartford went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Licab, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, a daughter of the late Benito Feliciano and Rosalina Ventura. Lita was an honors graduate of Far Eastern University in the Philippines with a bachelor's degree in Commerce. She worked as an Office Administrator at Chen Kuang School in Manila, Philippines. She immigrated to the United States in 1970 and worked as an Accounting Clerk for Aetna until her retirement in 1992. She loved to cook Filipino dishes. Her hobbies included coin and stamp collecting, puzzles and she had a special love of jade plants. She was a delight to her friends and family and always happy and cheerful. Her faith in Jesus Christ was her key to living a long happy life. She is predeceased by her loving husband Angel Zaleta. She leaves three loving children, Enrico Zaleta and his wife Susan of Manchester, CT, Thelma, daughter and her husband Paul of Vermont, and Magellan Zaleta and his wife Dawn of Bloomfield, CT; two grandchildren, Jessica Zaleta and her fiance Scott Mann of Rocky Hill, CT and Christina Lowry and her husband Alex of London, England; one great grandson Bodhi Lowry.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday August 16, 2023 from 9AM-11AM. A Funeral Home Prayer service: Wednesday August 16, 2023 from 11am-12pm at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT
Followed by Christian burial at Saint Mary Cemetery 930 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT.
