

David (Dave) B. Sullivan, 58, life time resident of East Hartford, passed away on July 4, 2013, after a brief illness. Dave is pre-deceased by his mother, Jean (Banas) and father, Eugene J. Sullivan, nephew, Derek Sullivan, and his stepson, Matthew (Matt) Chesar, and Dave’s faithful furry companion of thirteen years, Seal, was laid to rest in September 2012.
Dave is survived by his brother Richard and wife, Carol Sullivan of Coventry, CT and their two sons, his nephews, Douglas and Ryan, and his sister Barbara (Sullivan) Malena of Bumpass, Virginia and her two daughters, his nieces, Kristen and Kimberly. He also has three great nephews. Dave is survived by his former wife MT Sidoli of Salisbury, North Carolina.
Dave was a local car enthusiast who raced mini-stocks on the Waterford, Connecticut and Riverside, Massachusetts short tracks. Jeffrey Ivey was his best friend for many years and business partner for the last 13 years, working together for HARC and also sharing Dave’s interest in car racing. Dave cherished his inter-action with the participants and residents of HARC in his daily work routines.
Before working for HARC, Dave retired from The Hublein Company after being there for twenty years.
Shari Peltier, his partner of six years, lovingly cared for Dave during the past few months of his illness. Dave will be missed by his family and many friends.
Calling hours are to be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 11am-1pm followed by a funeral service at 1pm at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT 06108. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
