Dora Blanche Martin

Dora B. Martin, 81, of East Hartford, beloved wife of Arthur Martin, died suddenly on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. Born on March 6, 1934 in Wallagrass, ME, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Modeste (Ouellette) St Germaine. Dora was a devoted UCONN Womens Basketball fan, enjoyed Bingo at St Isaac Jogues Church, hockey, sewing and quilting, and loved cooking for and spending time with family. She is survived by her husband Arthur; son Steven and Kelley Martin of Windsor Locks; daughter Deborah and Douglas Calano of East Granby; 5 grandchildren Laura, Brian, and Julie Martin, Emily and Sarah Calano; 3 sisters Lorraine Paulman, Irene Pinette, and Mary Ellen Gess; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Dora was predeceased by 2 brothers Herman St Germaine and Edmund St Germaine; and 4 sisters Germaine St Germaine, Louise Jacques, Lillian Plourde and Julie Sopher.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, October 10, 2015, 9am at the funeral home, followed at 10am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Isaac Jogues RC Church, 1 Community St, East Hartford. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.
