

Dorilda M. (Dionne) Lagasse, 89, of East Hartford, beloved Mother of sixteen children, passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2012. She was born in St. David’s Parish, in Madawaska, ME and resided in East Hartford for the past 34 years. A devout Roman Catholic and parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, she enjoyed serving and praising the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart. She always prayed for peace, love and tranquility for those within the family, extended families and friends. She promoted the Gospel of Jesus Christ thru the Most Holy Rosary of Our Lady.
She was a proud member of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Eucharist Apostle of the Divine Mercy, Association of the Miraculous Medal, St. Mary’s Church, ORTV and Al-Anon Group of Greater Hartford. Her daily spiritual devotions were of personal prayers and reciting the Chaplet of the Sacred Heart, Chaplet of the Divine Mercy, Most Holy Rosary of Our Lady and Celebration of the Eucharist.
She is survived by seven sons, Gilman, Roland, Joseph C, Bertrand, Fernand, James and Roger; seven daughters, Angela Clavet, Florence DeCroix, Irene Lagasse, Pauline Wood, Rachelle LaBrecque, Linda LaFleur and Annette LaGueux; 36 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren; sisters Connie Dionne and Angie Charleton, many nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, son Fernand and an unborn child; parents Frederick and Julie (Pelletier) Dionne; sisters Simone Butler, Bernice Dionne and Annette Johnson; brothers Norman, Medley, Lucien, Levite and Clifford; Grandpa Frank Leonard; special friend Joseph Ruggiero.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, June 11th from 3-7PM at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave, East Hartford, CT 06108. Her Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Tuesday, June 12th at 10a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Maplewood Ave, East Hartford, everyone is asked to meet at the church. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford, CT.
