

Elinor Claire (Taylor) Maynes, 93, of Manchester, previously of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter C. Maynes. Elinor was born in Wethersfield, CT on October 1, 1921 a daughter of the late Neil and Edith (Schofield) Taylor. She was employed by Cigna, retiring in 1981. Elinor enjoyed listening to music, gardening and painting, appreciated all animals, wildlife and nature. She was an avid bowler, talented seamstress, artist and baker. Elinor had a love for life. She always saw the best in everyone and was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her expressions “See the good in everyone” and “When one door closes, another opens”. Elinor loved to spend time with her cherished family. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, a beautiful lady who will be dearly missed by all.
Elinor leaves behind her three daughters; Neila and her husband Dr. William Tullar of Gibsonville, NC, Marcia and her husband Mark Otis of Manchester, and Lori Perrotta of Berlin, grandchildren; Terry and Chris Tullar, Jesse Richards, 3 great grandchildren, Drew and Bradley Tullar, Grace Richards, brother Donald S. Taylor, sister Lucille H. Blasko and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Merrill Taylor.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of VNA Hospice & Masonicare, especially Katy, Laura and Linda for their loving and compassionate care.
