

Elizabeth (Smith) Woodward, 86, of Enfield, previously of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2015. She was the loving wife of the late Francis Woodward. She was born on October 11, 1928 in Manchester, a daughter of the late Jack and Mary (Richards) Smith.
She was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army of Hartford & Springfield, MA. She was employed for 48 years as a switchboard operator for the Rourke Eno Paper Co.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister Louise Topolski and her husband Walter of Somers, nephew Steven Topolski and his family in FL, niece Sharon Latif, niece Sandra Minukas and her husband Michael, niece Carrie Topolski, and grand nieces and nephews; Matthew, Amanda, Kyle, Brandon, Cody and Morgan.
She is predeceased by her parents and her husband.
The family wishes to thank the staff of nurses and caregivers from Parkway Pavilion and Gloria from Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care given to Elizabeth.

Friends are invited to a period of visitation of Friday, January 9, 2015 from 4-7pm at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108. Services will begin on Saturday, January 10, at 10am followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial to follow immediately in Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield, CT.
