Harry L LoGiudice, 98, of East Hartford, CT passed away at home surrounded by his family, on September 11, 2021. His parents, Jennie and Louis LoGiudice, came through Ellis Island from Sicily Italy, in the early 19th century to Lawrence Massachusetts, where Harry was born. Harry was the loving husband of Antoinette (Puia) LoGiudice, who preceded him in death. Harry is survived by his beloved daughters Diane Maiorano and her husband Michael Maiorano of Bolton, CT and Nancy McGee and her husband Luke McGee of Windsor, CT. Harry is also survived by his two grandchildren Danielle (McGee) Hutchins and her husband Blake of Oxford, CT and Christopher McGee and his longtime girlfriend Jamie Steinberg of Brighton, MA. Harry is also survived by his younger sister Mary Honaker and her husband Ron of Brunswick, GA; Harry’s sister Anne Lansbury, of Oxford, England, UK preceded him in death. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and other family members, many of whom participated in a Birthday Drive-by ceremony, for Harry’s 98th birthday only two weeks ago. Harry was fortunate to have several compassionate neighbors who were an inspiration for him. Harry was an accomplished musician, playing many instruments. He attended Hartt (Univ of Hartford CT) School of Music in Hartford CT. He supported himself as a professional musician prior to entering the army. Harry served in WWII as a Radioman in the Army Air Corp. He attended Gettysburg College studying to be a navigator while still in the Army Air Corp. Upon his discharge from the Army, he again worked as a musician (playing Base & Cello) while pursuing further education. He was performing at a USO Show one night and at intermission he met his future wife, Antoinette Puia. Harry was a product of the Big Band era, and he cherished the music of that time. He loved to dance with his wife Antoinette, and they were the toast of many dance nights. Harry had many different interests; including a side business “Log’s Radio and TV Repair”, woodworking and crafts, he made furniture and children’s toys, 8 mm photography and later digital video transferring from 8 mm to DVDs, he was keenly aware of conservative politics and financial topics. He was a very practical and disciplined man, the kind of man who could eat just 2 Oreos, he was quiet and yet said volumes when he would say, “Honey, can I make a suggestion”. Harry worked 3 jobs: at Hartford Steel Ball and Horst Engineering as a machinist and draftsman respectively, and his TV repair business, while raising his family. He completed his college degree, at night, at Hilliard College (Later Univ of Hartford). He ultimately worked and retired from Combustion Engineering (CE) as a Fossil Fuel analyst. Harry took an early retirement from CE, in 1989, then with his wife Antoinette, they created lifelong memories with their two grandchildren; taking trips to the beach, museums, walks in the park and time spent entertaining each other. He was a patient and constant source of support throughout his long life to all his family members. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Calling hours will be held this Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 4 pm to 7 pm, at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave, East Hartford, CT 06108.
