

Harry, known as “Babe” by his family and friends, is survived by his son Geoff Pinney of Orange, California and Geoff’s fiancé Marisela, his three grandchildren Carsin, Cadin, and Colton and Marisela’s daughter Noemi. Harry also is survived by 7 nieces and nephews and their families from his two brothers Clifford Pinney, Jr., and Kenneth Pinney, who preceded him in death. He is also predeceased by his mother Hildred Knickerbocker Pinney and his father Clifford Pinney, Sr, his nephews Ronald, Dennis, Lain, and Clifford III Pinney, and his sister-in-laws Gertrude (Apolzer) Pinney and Ann (Detrick) Pinney.
Harry was born and raised in East Hartford, CT and later moved to Wethersfield, CT where he lived for almost 50 years. Mr. Pinney was a high school math and Chemistry teacher at Bloomfield High, East Hartford High, and Penney High Schools for over 30 years. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University and did Masters’ work at Hillyer College (University of Hartford), Wesleyan University, and several other colleges.
Harry had a great passion for music; he enjoyed singing his entire life. He was a member of school and church choirs and performed with various singing groups after his retirement from teaching. All who knew him will remember his beautiful voice.
He also loved sports. He played football, basketball, and baseball in high school and enjoyed playing tennis and golf with his friends and his son. Harry loved to watch sports and was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and UConn Women’s Basketball teams.
