

Jacqueline D. King of South Windsor, CT, a beloved matriarch, devoted gardener and quiet observer of the world’s small wonders, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Portland, Maine on April 12, 1935, Jacqueline lived a life rooted in simple joys. Nothing brought her greater happiness than her family. Jacqueline was the steady heartbeat of a large and loving family. She delighted in every milestone of her grandchildren from first steps, dance recitals, baseball, football & basketball games. She was known to her grandchildren as Memere and great grandchildren as Great Memere.
Jacqueline is survived by her five children, Victoria & Gerald Montovani of Sarasota, Florida, Timothy King of Coventry, Connecticut, Antoinette & Brian Rodrigues of Johns Island, South Carolina, Steven King of Ellington, Connecticut and Renee King of Cape Coral, Florida. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, two sisters, Ruth LaCroix of Tolland, Connecticut, Monita & Walter Desruisseaux of Tenants Harbor, Maine and several nieces and nephews.
Jacqueline was predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. King and many siblings.
A private celebration of Jacqueline’s life was held on Friday, March 6, 2026.
