

Jean Everin, 81, of E. Hartford, beloved wife of the late John Everin, died Thursday Sept 22, at St. Francis hospital. Born August 24, 1935 in Staten Island NY. She lived in Woodstock and Enfield prior to settling in East Hartford in 1965. She attended Woodstock Academy. She worked at E Hartford Credit Union and retired from The Travelers Ins. Co. after 22 years.Jean loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel, read novels, playing cards, and gardening. She will be dearly missed by her son Keith and wife Candace, her son Kerry, daughter Maureen Thurz and her husband Mark. A sister-in-law Arlene Hourihan and her husband Arthur. Her grandchildren Tanya, Amber, Levi, Ryan, Carly, Maddison, and their mother Lori Everin and her grandchildren Justin and Colton Thurz. She also had 9 great grandchildren and one more due in Feb 2017 as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves two very special people in her life Penny Nash and Amy Cignoli and George and Lenore Lane and family. Also her brother Albert "Pete" Petersen and Bonnie Spielman. Jean was predeceased by her father William Floyd and her brother Robert Floyd. The family wishes to thank the staff of the ICU unit and St. Francis Hospital. In honor of Jean's memory, memorial donations may also be made to the National Down Syndrome Foundation Society, 6766 Broadway 8th Fl NY,NY 10012 or the JDRF 26 Broadway 14th Fl NY, NY 10004. Visitation hours will be held Monday, Sept 26th from 4-7 pm at The Callahan/Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept 27th at 10:30 am at St. Rose Church, 33 Church St. East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery
