John Parsons Jr.

John Parsons Jr., 92, of Coventry, husband of the late Cathleen (Roy) Parsons passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025. He was born October 31, 1932 in Hartford, CT a son of the late John and Anne (Sullivan) Parsons.

John was a resident of Coventry and graduated from East Hartford High in 1954. He served his country during the Korean War in Korea and Japan beginning in 1954 and returning to the US in 1956. He dedicated many years as a tool and die maker at Whitney Chain where he met his wife Cathleen. He served as an apprentice at the Underwood and the Royal Typewriter, and finished his career at The Wiremold. John raised his kids in Manchester and retired in Coventry. He found joy in golfing, fishing, cooking and baking.

John is survived by a son John Parsons III and his wife Jill of Coventry, daughter Nicole Parsons, his grandchildren; Kaila, Brendan, Abby, brother; Charles and his wife Agnes Parsons

John was predeceased by his 3 brothers Joseph, William, James Parsons and 3 sisters Dorothy Batcheller, Ann Perkins, and Mary Sevcik.

A celebration of John's life will be held on Tuesday, April 8 from 11am to 12:30pm at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave, East Hartford. Burial at the CT State Veteran Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
