

Annino, Joseph James (88) of East Hartford, CT departed peacefully at home on Monday, December 15th. Born in Cromwell, August 30, 1937, to Mrs. Rose G. Annino. His brother, Reverend Sebastian V. Annino (deceased) and he were raised by their deceased Grandparent’s Sebastiano and Maria Gugliemino on their Family-owned Dairy Farm, Gugliemino Dairies.
In the early years he attended the historic Nathanial White Grammar School. His religious education through confirmation was from the Sisters of Mercy in Middletown, CT. He attended the Saint John R.C. Church, in Cromwell CT. In 1955, he graduated from the old Middletown High School where he represented proudly the “Boy’s State” and the “All-State Choir.” He earned an Honorable Discharge from the Middletown Army National Guard as an E-6 Staff Sergeant. He also was a Graduate of the Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture at Storrs, UCONN, 1957.
He worked for New England Dairies (Sealtest Milk) of Hartford, for 40 ½ years. At 22 years old, he had a great opportunity to learn the milk laboratory system with the Amish in Buffalo, New York. Witnessing the simple way of life through farming, horse and buggy system and hay storage barn building. He was also a proud Retiree of the Milkman, Teamster Union Local 1035.
He was an avid gardener having an interest in growing yearly the newest, rarest and unusual plants. Getting a lot of pleasure from large flower blooms and beautiful roses for each of his daughters.
He was happily married for 28 years to his deceased, loving wife Theresa C. (Perrone) Annino. Their 25th Anniversary Dream Vacation was to Waikiki and Kaanapali beach Maui, Hawaii.
Special thanks and love for Vincent Perrone (deceased), Grace Perrone (deceased) and son John Candela and Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Eileen Griffin and son David Perrone.
Left to cherish his memory are his six loving daughters and their spouses Rosemarie and Robert Russell, Mary-Catherine and Ram Gopal, Christine Annino, Susan and Krzysztof Piasecki, Margaret and Daniel Rivellini, Jean Annino. Grandchildren Lucas and Owen Rheaume, Darius and Olivia Fleeting, Noah and Erika Piasecki, Maya Theresa and Astro Gopal, Jake Kalandyk and Joseph Rivellini. An Aunt on his father’s side Maria A. Fiorentino. And many others who will always hold a special place in their hearts for him. Also, he had a long-time special friend who is deceased Sadie Aleria Hodgdon.
Calling hours will be at Newkirk Whitney Funeral Home at 318 Burnside Ave in East Hartford between 9-10am on Friday, December 19th. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Church at 15 Maplewood Avenue in East Hartford. Burial will be private at the family's convenience.
