Kenneth Robert Pietrasko

Kenneth "Ken" R. Pietrasko - "The Great One", 55, of Glastonbury, passed away after a long illness on Friday, (November 25, 2011), in his home with his wife and children by his side. Born on September, 8, 1956 on Long Island, NY a son of the late Kenneth J. and Margaret Pietrasko. Ken was a graduate of Adelphi University where he received a bachelor's degree in Economics as well as earning a Graduate Degree in Micro Economics. He was a National Accounts Sales Vice President for Aetna Insurance and was employed there for 25 years. Ken loved spending time with his family, cooking, travelling to exotic destinations and playing lacrosse and tennis. He continued to play the sports he loved during his illness, which was a testament to his strength and drive. Ken's other passion was fishing. Ever since he was a child he would travel everywhere he could to catch that next "big one." Ken is survived by his wife of 33 years, Suzanne Pietrasko; his sons, Kenneth C. Pietrasko of Newington and Stephen Pietrasko, who serves in the U.S. Army. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Vormittag of Manorville, NY, and three nephews, a niece; two grand-nephews, and two grand-nieces. In addition to his parents, Ken is predeceased by his brother, Francis Pietrasko.

Calling hours will be held at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tnpk, Glastonbury, 06033 on Sunday (Nov. 27th) from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Ken's life will be held on Monday (Nov. 28th) at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow immediately in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ken's name to the following charities:
