Leemarie "Mima" Ortiz

Leemarie “Mima” Ortiz, 15, of Hartford, was reunited with her savior on June 10, 2015. Mima was born in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of Marysol Rodriguez. She enjoyed her life, loved to laugh and make others laugh. She had a great sense of humor and had a great sense of style and fashion. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Mima had a love for cooking and creating and had aspirations of becoming a chef. She was outgoing, outspoken and very social. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister Maryelis Sanchez (at home), her maternal grandmother Rhona Rodriguez of Hartford, her aunt Rhona Lee Alvarez of Hartford and her two uncles, Abraham Rodriguez of Jersey City, New Jersey and Alex Rodriguez of Lorraine, Ohio and many extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday June 16, 2015 at 9AM at La Iglesia de Dios, Inc. Church, 1313 Main St. Hartford, CT. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, CT. Visiting hours at La Iglesia de Dios, Inc. church will be Monday, June 15, 2015 from 7-10PM. Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford, CT has been entrusted with the arrangements.
