Manuel "Papi" Gomez

Manuel “Papi” Gomez, 86, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was welcomed home by his beloved and deeply missed son, Manuel Gomez Jr. He was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Nemencio and Placida (Gonzalez) Gomez. He retired from Pratt & Whitney after 30+ years. He leaves behind his loving and devoted daughters, Jeanne Newton and her husband Shawn of East Hartford, Lori Tracy and her husband Darryl of Enfield, Elisa Lupacchino and her husband Richard of East Hartford, Sandy Franklin and her husband Bill of Newington, and Nicole Gomez of West Hartford. He was a well-known family man and leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren, David and his wife Angelique, Gregory and Brian Leeman, Steven and Sarah Tracy, Richard Lupacchino Jr, Vincent and Olivia Sartori and Blake Caldwell, six great grandchildren, Bailey, Gregory, Anthony, Juliette and Serena Leeman, and Gavin Lupacchino, several nieces and nephews, among them Diane Rivera. He is survived his sister, Ana Luisa Rivera of East Hartford and siblings in Puerto Rico, Atilana Gomez, Ricardo Gomez and Nilta Gomez. He was predeceased by his brother Jesús Gomez.
