Margaret R House

Margaret R. House, 95, of East Hartford passed away Monday May 31, 2021 after a period of decline. She was a 1943 graduate of East Hartford High School. Peggy began her working career at The Aetna and retired from the Financial Division of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in 1983.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald W. House Sr., her son Daniel W. House, her parents Mary (Galvin) Rodgers and James J. Rodgers Sr., her sister Mae Rodgers, her brothers James J. Rodgers Jr., Patrick F. Rodgers Sr. and her nephew Patrick F. Rodgers Jr.

Peggy is survived by her daughter Joanne White and her husband David P. White of Dennis MA., her son Donald W. House Jr. of East Hartford CT., her grandsons Kevin G. White and his wife Danielle White and great-grandsons Conor T. White and Brennan M. White all of Alexandria VA., Jeremy D. White and his wife Katherine White and great-granddaughter Aisling J. White, all of Washington D.C., Donald W. House III of East Hartford CT., Daniel W. House of East Hartford CT., her nieces Maureen A. Rodgers of Old Saybrook CT., Patricia Rodgers of Ellington CT., Rosemary Munkittrick of Portland CT., Gigi Tappan of Marshfield MA. and her cousin Dolores Arsenault of East Hartford CT.

Peggy’s family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Ronald Kimmel of Prime Health Care of East Hartford as well as her caregivers Jeanine, Tamra and Vivene of Companions and Homemakers for their kind and compassionate care. Her family will fondly remember her quick wit, her pride in her Irish heritage and her fabulous cooking.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday June 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s R.C. Church 15 Maplewood Ave. East Hartford, CT. 06108. The family will be greeting attendees with a receiving line prior to Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. Committal immediately following at Hillside Cemetery in East Hartford, CT.
