

Mary (Lanzo) Galipo, 90, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2016. She was born in East Hartford, a daughter of the late James and Angela (Pinto) Lanzo and was a graduate of East Hartford High School. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and faithfully attended Mass there. She worked in the accounting department at the former First Federal Savings and Loan in East Hartford and retired in 1991. Her husband Frank Galipo predeceased her in 1987. She is survived by three loving daughters, Lisa Galipo and her husband Gary Norman of East Hartford, Susan Moser and her husband Duane of Norwich and Gail Evans of East Hartford, one loving sister Theresa Savino of East Hartford, two grandchildren David Moser and his wife Erin of Waterford and Melissa Melough and her husband James of Vernon, two great-grandchildren Gia and Killian Moser and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Eugene Lanzo in 2014 and her son-in-law Kenny Evans in 2011. Mary volunteered for the American Red Cross, Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center, and was a member of St. Mary's Prayer Shawl Ministry. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday December 30, 2016 at 10AM at St. Mary's Church, 15 Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford, followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday December 29, 2016 from 3-7PM at the Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford.
