

Mary (Giannotti) Prasser, 89, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late George Russell Prasser Sr., passed away peacefully Thursday March 12, 2015. Mary was born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 14, 1926 daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Quinn) Giannotti.
Mary was loved by everyone she knew. She was a friendly and personable lady who blessed her family and friends with an unselfish and giving heart. She enjoyed ceramics and working in her beautiful flower gardens, but most of all spending time with her family, especially her 7 adored grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother and friend.
A devout communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, Mary was very involved, serving as a Eucharist Minister, as well as a CCD teacher. Mary was employed by various retail stores and worked at Raffas Restaurant in Glastonbury for many years.
Mary will be dearly missed by her son George “Rusty”Prasser Jr. and his wife Susan of Manchester, daughter Maryann Pavano and her husband Marco of Rockford, MI., son Brian Prasser of East Hartford, 7 cherished grandchildren, Kyle, Nicole, Holly Prasser, Vincenzo, Christina, Marco, Alissa Pavano, sister Casilda and her husband Ted Lucas, sisters-in-law Angela Prasser and Bertha Sullivan, several nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 2-4pm at the Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT. Funeral services will be held Monday March 16, at 8:30am at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 9:30am in Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Road, East Hartford. Burial to follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
