Paul Leone

Paul Leone, loving husband of Pauline (Bonaiuto) Leone, passed away peacefully on May 12th, 2011, at his home with his beloved wife and children by his side. He was the son of the late Sebastiano and Teresa (Gionfriddo) Leone, born in Salem, MA where he lived until age 3. Paul was raised and educated in Canicattini, Bagni, Sicily. He moved back to the U.S. at the age of 19. Paul lived in East Hartford for 57 years where he was the owner and operator of Paul Leone Plumbing & Heating for over 50 years. He was a member of the Young Italians and Canicattinese Society, and was a proud Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Paul is survived by his children and their spouses, Mark and Joyce (Kucia) Leone and Teresa (Leone) and Sal Russo. He also leaves five loving grandchildren, Dana, Keri and Sal Russo, Paul and Daniel Leone. Paul is predeceased by his sister Maria (Leone) Lombardo and his brother Michele Leone; both of Sicily.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his family at the beach in Old Lyme, and travelling frequently to Sicily. He was an avid UConn Huskies fan.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 1 Community St. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, both located in East Hartford. Calling hours will be Sunday, May 15th from 4 to 8PM at the funeral home.
