AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Peter Arthur Muzeroll

3 août 1936 – 18 décembre 2025
Avis de décès de Peter Arthur Muzeroll
AUX SOINS DE

Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home

The beloved soul of Peter Arthur Muzeroll made his celestial transition on December 18, surrounded by his loving and treasured children.

Peter, 89, of Marlborough, CT was born to Arthur Muzeroll Jr. and Bernadette (DeRaps) Muzeroll on August 3, 1936, in Waterville, Maine. He was a 1954 graduate of Waterville High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from the University of Maine at Orono in 1958. Peter could command a room - his magnetic personality and leadership traits shone early, first by earning the rank of Eagle Scout, then as class president in High School and President of his fraternity, Delta Tau Delta.

Peter served as an officer in the U.S. Army Artillery and was stationed in West Germany from 1958 through 1960. He earned advanced degrees from the University of Connecticut in Storrs and taught mathematics in the secondary schools of Glastonbury, CT for 18 years. He was then supervisor of mathematics education in Windsor, CT for 15 years and ended his career at Central Connecticut State University where he taught math to educators.

During his retirement, Peter enjoyed music, running, travel, stamp collecting, cheering on the UCONN men’s and women’s basketball teams, spending time with family and summers at the family camp in Oakland, Maine. He was a member of 3 musical performing groups as a guitarist and vocalist and an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church in East Hartford, CT.

Peter leaves behind daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Anthony Hosier and wonderful grandson, Jamie Hosier, of Millbury, MA, daughter Kim Muzeroll, of Washington, D.C. and son Mark Muzeroll, of Salem, MA.

A devoted and supportive father and grandfather, Peter instilled in his children and grandson a love of family, music, nature, animals, education, facts, and dad jokes. His commitment, hard work and loving attention continue to be of tremendous benefit to his children and grandson. Father, friend, teacher, composer and musician, Peter was always ready with a riddle or a joke. He could coax a smile and a giggle from a stern stranger and filled every room he entered with the warmth of his down to earth silly and playful wit. He was truly one of a kind.

Peter will be joining in spirit with his parents, wife Charlotte Miller, partner in crime Leo DeRaps, longtime music collaborator Chuck Haller and many other family and friends who are lovingly awaiting his arrival.

His family would like to thank Eunice and Nashemma and all the staff at the Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, The Village at Buckland Court and the Marlborough Health and Rehabilitation Center for all the excellent care they provided to Peter.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church, 444 Hills Street, East Hartford, CT.
