

Richard George Duncan, 95, of West Hartford, Passed away peacefully on February 14, 2017 at Jefferson House, in Newington. Dick was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Marks) for the past 72 years. He was born on June 19, 1921 in Hartford, CT a son of the late Edward and Adelaide (Stonebridge) Duncan.
He is survived by his cherished family; wife Marilyn Duncan, daughters Cynthia Duncan of West Hartford and Marsha Keppler of Newington, “his boys” grandsons Kris Keppler and wife Jill of Clinton and Greg Keppler of Newington, his pride and joy; great grandsons Chase and Griffinn Keppler, of Clinton. He will also be deeply missed by numerous nieces and nephews, and good friends he made everywhere he went.
Dick is preceded in death by his son-in-law Paul Keppler, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Dick was an established Mason, 32nd degree, connected to the original Hospitality Lodge #128, a longtime member of the Wethersfield Volunteer Fireman’s Association, former active member of Company #1. He was extremely mechanically talented; he worked at Hartt’s Volkswagen and in the automotive industry for many years. Dick was a man who you could ask for automotive advice, he was the go-to guy if you ever needed a hand. He was always willing to share his knowledge and help whomever needed it.
He loved to tinker with his Antique cars, but more importantly he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather who adored spending time with his family.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Jefferson House, especially the Morgan Unit for their care and compassion shown to Dick and his wife.

A Celebration of Dick’s life Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 11am at the First Church of Christ, 250 Main St., Wethersfield CT. Burial will be private and at a later date.
