Richard R. Thibodeau

Richard Roger Thibodeau, 75, predeceased by his wife Rella (Fournier) Thibodeau, died on Monday, January 16, 2012 in Glastonbury, CT. Richard was born in Eagle Lake, Maine, the son of Ronaldo and Jeannette (Gagne) Thibodeau. He lived in East Hartford for 35 years where he raised his family. He later resided at the Summerville of South Windsor and the Retreat of Hartford assisted living facilities.

He worked as a Quality Inspector for over 40 years. He was a Chief Inspector for Dynamic Metal Products where he worked for 26 years prior to his retirement in 2000. His passions were classic country music; astronomy and reading. He was an avid statistician and cribbage player.

Richard is survived by his 4 children and their spouses, Daniel & Debra Thibodeau of Rockport, MA, Sandra Thibodeau-Sasso of Southwick, MA, Wayne & Mary Jean Thibodeau of South Windsor, CT and Patricia & Robert Ryan of East Hartford, CT. He was known as “Pepere” to his 10 grandchildren, Randy Paradis, Michael Thibodeau and his wife Lauryn, Adrian Thibodeau, Andrea Paradis, Paul Sasso, Kevin Ryan and his wife Brandy, Jamie Thibodeau, Jessica Thibodeau, Allison Ryan and Anna Thibodeau. His 2 great-grandchildren, Gavin Ryan and Brayden Thibodeau. He leaves his sister Shirley (Thibodeau) Soucy and her husband Fred of Enfield, CT and many extended family members.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, January 21st from 4 to 6 PM, at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108. Casual attire welcomed. A special thank you to all the care givers over the many years. A private service and burial will be held in Eagle Lake Maine at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Masonicare Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza suite 200, East Hartford, CT.
