

Robin N. Mercure, 74 years old, passed away on February 4th, 2015 at Hartford Hospital with his family by his side. Robin was born on July 17th, 1940 in Springfield, MA, to the late Ernest J. Mercure and Adela (Newcomb) Mercure from Granby, MA. Robin proudly served his Country as a Marine from 1958 through 1963. He worked as a Dry Wall Contractor for over 50 years leaving his handprints in buildings and homes all over the East Coast.
Robin was an avid fisherman who loved to spend his time in New Hampshire at Eastman's fishing dock. Beside his deep love for the sea, he loved to work in his garden and give rides to his grandchildren on his tractor for hours. He also loved to build and fix things, creating beautiful things for his grandchildren. He was also a lifelong Red Sox fan.
Robin is survived by his wife of 30 years Susan Mercure-Fagan of East Hartford, CT and his two daughters, Christie Mercure-Fagan of East Hartford, CT, Mandie Mercure-Fagan and her husband Reid Mucci of Cromwell, CT; his four grandchildren, Mia Isabella, Myla Susan, Maci Lorraine, and Madden Cash. He also leaves his two sisters, Nina Anderson of Granby, MA and Arlene Burlin of South Hadley, MA; his two brothers, Ernest Mercure Jr. and Lee Mercure both of Granby, MA. Robin also leaves behind many nieces and nephews from Connecticut, Massachusetts and Florida. Robin was predeceased by his brother Timothy Mercure who recently passed away on February 2nd, 2015 and his brother in-law, Dave Anderson of Granby, MA.
Funeral services will begin at 9:00AM, on Saturday, February 14th,at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, at 10:30AM, at St. Christopher Church, 158 Brewer St., East Hartford. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, 1312 Silver La., East Hartford. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Friday, February 13th, from 5 to 8 PM for calling hours.
