Theresa A. Uricchio

Theresa Ann (Longo) Uricchio, 83, passed away peacefully June 8, 2011 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 29, 1927 in East Hartford, to the late Leonardo and Domenica (LoCilento) Longo, originally of Ferrandina, Italy. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Franklin Uricchio of Hartford.

She was a graduate of East Hartford High School class of 1945 and later worked towards an Associates Degree at Manchester Community College. She was an active member of the Organization of Active Adults at MCC and enjoyed trips to places such as New York, Italy, Austria and Spain with the organization. She will be most remembered for her wonderful cooking and the way she cared for her family and friends by making their favorite dishes on holidays and special occasions.

She is survived by her daughter Lynn Drieu and her fiancé John Oulundsen of Avon. Theresa's family would like to thank the staff at Manchester Hospital and the Visiting Nurse & Health Services of CT for their care and kindness. The family would also like to send special thanks to Theresa's "family" at Manchester Manor. Their love and devotion made a great impact on her health and wellbeing during her stay with them.

Theresa’s funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 14th, at 11am, at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108. Burial will immediately follow in Silver Lane Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 10am, Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Theresa’s honor to donor’s choice.
