Valencia Yvonne Godreau

Val was born in Lewiston, ME on September 14, 1926, to the late Justine and Gaudias Bourgault, and later moved to Connecticut where she retired from Travelers Insurance Co., after 25 years of service.

Val was a loving, caring and devoted to her family. Her kindness and willingness to accept everyone made her a very special person. She enjoyed baking and participating in community activities at Willow Arms Apts., where she resided for over 20 years. Val is predeceased by her brother Donat Bourgault and her son Leo Godreau. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Linda Pelletier and her husband Richard, daughter-in-law Cynthia Godreau, grandchildren Jason Pelletier, Shelley Oski, Christopher Godreau and Carrie Goldman, brother Bert Bourgault, sister Helen Rodrigue. She will also be missed by Louis Godreau, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and plenty of special people she has touched the lives of.

Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 3-6pm at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT, 06108, with a memorial service to follow at 6pm at the funeral home.
