

Virginia “Virgie” May Valentine, 88, of Manchester, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus (Yeshua) on 10-11-12. She was born on April 19, 1924 in Hartford, CT. She was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Snyder) Valentine.
Virgie was predeceased by brothers Frank, William and Tony Valentine, sisters Isabelle “Sis/Betty” Felice and Lorraine Nicolo.
Virgie was employed by Pratt & Whitney and was a dedicated employee of Arrow-Hart Hegeman Manufacturing for 45 years until she retired.
Left to cherish Virgie’s memory is her nephew Guy (Tracy) Nicolo of S. Windsor, her niece Joyce “Nicole” Peirolo of North Carolina. Beloved grand nephews Shawn Nicolo of Wethersfield, and Michael (Kate) Nicolo of Amston, special grand niece Beverly (Oken) Stroh of New Hampshire, great grand nephews Matthew and Tony Nicolo of Amston, great grand niece Lilianna Grace Nicolo of Amston and one great great grand niece Evie Valentine Stroh due to be born in December.
Special blessings and gratitude to her lifelong friends and neighbors Denice Jones, Richard and Janice Pierce, Tom & Libby Heel, John McHugh, and all her other earthly angels that watched over her (you know who you are).
Thank you to Sonny Damato and family for providing a safe and comfortable home for Virgie all these years.
Virgie loved children, helping people in need, and she was an animal advocate. She owned and cared for 4 precious dogs Chiquita, Nikki, Hobo, and Bullet and lovingly dog sat for Herk & Harley and other pets. However her final years were spent in the company of a very special rescued cat she named Goldi.
Virgie often expressed her love for her Lord through her exceptional paintings of religious nature.
A lifelong hobby, it brought great joy to Virgie creating beautiful paint-by-number artworks that were always meaningful to the recipient.
Virgie will be remembered for her feisty personality, strong organizational skills, delicious home cooked meals, her gift of storytelling especially of family memories, her faith in God and how she lived her life by obeying the Ten Commandments. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a period of visitation on Tuesday, October 16th, from 6-8pm at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT, 06108. Visitation to continue at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 17th, with a Funeral Mass at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, East Hartford.
