Willie Earl Looney

Willie Earl Looney, 64, of Glastonbury, died unexpectedly on Wednesday September 14, 2011. He was born in Margaret, Alabama, a son of the late Willie E. and Lilly Mae (Shepard) Looney.Willie “Long”, “E” was a devoted husband, father and friend. Willie loved his weekends, his wine and his sports. Willie was an avid sports fan and loved football and baseball, among his favorites were the Tampa Bay Rays. He was a Supervisor at Pratt and Whitney and retired in 2010 after 45 years of service. He is survived by his beloved wife Maria E. Lopez, his daughter Alexandra N. Lopez of Glastonbury; his son Edwin and his wife Dianne of Glastonbury; his daughter Kelly A. Luna of Texas; his son Michael J. Luna of South Windsor; his daughters Yolanda Ramos of Bloomfield and Valerie Williams of East Hartford; his twin brother Willie James Looney and his wife Margaret of Simsbury; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, among them Curtis Looney of Simsbury. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4-8PM at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Services and burial are private and at the convenience of the family.
