Loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, son, devoted family man, economist, commodities trading regulator, lieutenant, fisherman, boat captain, movie buff, storyteller, prankster, idealist, pragmatist, scholar, a lover of literature, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. A self-made man, he was generous with everyone, patient with others, but demanding of himself. There was no one else like him. Patriarch of our large, extended family, he will remain in our hearts and minds forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Freddy Rifon. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Joan of 67 years, his children Nora Rifon, Deane (Julie) Rifon; his grandchildren Zoe Elizabeth Rifon Wilton and Max Rifon; and his niece Madeline (Robert) Brigham.
