Holland, MI, formerly of Lansing, MI
12/21/1918 – 10/10/2012
Carrie was born at home in Blanchard, Michigan December 21, 1918, the daughter of Effie and Lauren Dickson, and grew up on the family farm, where she learned the strong work ethic and values that she maintained throughout her life. She passed away October 10, 2012 at the age of 93. Carrie served her country during World War II as “Kitty The Riveter”. Being “Tiny but mighty” as her dad would say, Carrie would be on the inside of the fuselage of a B-29 backing up the rivets as they were installed. Carrie’s passing was preceded by her three brothers Lorenzo, Otis, and Orland, her sister Pearl, her eldest son Rolland, and most recently her partner of fifty years Don. Carrie is lovingly remembered and survived by her sister Stella, son Carl, daughter Hope, son Virgil, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. We all remember her as a loving, caring, and gentle lady, generous in thought, word, and deed.
