Debra M. Suffety, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan passed away in hospice in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 67 on December 23, 2023. No services will be held per her request. Ms. Suffety was born on December 26, 1955 to Hamed W. Suffety Sr. and Dorothy M. Suffety (Davy). They both predeceased her. She is survived by her brother Hamed Suffety Jr., his wife Patricia and their son, her beloved nephew Hamed Suffety III. In addition she leaves behind her dog Mac and many friends especially Melissa, Jeanne, Mindy and the Guerriero family. We would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and wonderful staff at Sparrow Hospital, Sparrow Palliative Care and Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.
Debra graduated from Michigan State University in 1978 and received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She also received a Master’s degree in Education from South Dakota State University. She spent most of her career as an educator and administrator. She taught school for many years in South Dakota at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and in the public school system. She later worked for Davenport University in Saginaw and Gardey Financial Advisors also in Saginaw.
Debra loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. She had a big personality and loved Spartan athletics. She was also a Detroit Lions long suffering fan. She will be greatly missed by all.
