

Diane Davis-Waller passed away on July 15, 2010 in Lansing, Michigan following a well fought battle with ovarian cancer. She was born July 19, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri; the daughter of Donald J. and Dorothy M. (Bennett) Davis of Pawley’s Island, SC.
Diane graduated from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law Juries Doctorate; Michigan State University in 1983, Master of Labor Relations and Human Resources; Michigan State University Industrial and Clinical Psychology. Diane worked all of her life toward the betterment of the lives of others during difficult times as a Social Worker, Labor Representative, and Labor Attorney and Arbitrator. Diane was among the first 20 female members of the American Academy of Arbitrators.
On December 17, 1976, Diane was married to her much beloved husband, John Waller from Dearborn, Michigan, who treated her as a queen during their marriage of 33 years. John recently retired from the State of Michigan. Together they raised two wonderful sons, Charles Waller of Frisco, Texas and Edward Waller of Okemos, Michigan whom Diane cherished as her young princes. Diane enjoyed handicrafts, particularly crocheting and needlepoint, gardening, baking, bunnies, golf, travel, rock-n-roll, cheering on her Detroit Lions, hanging with her girlfriends and entertaining family and friends.
Diane is preceded in death by her precious mother, Dorothy Davis and grandmothers Pearl Davis and Ursa Bennett of St. Louis, Missouri. Surviving are her father Donald Davis; Mum, Mollie Redding; and brother-in-law, William (Donna) Waller of Portland, Oregon; sisters Denni Davis of Lansing, Michigan and Kimberly (Ralph) Renninger of Powell, Ohio. Diane was the loving aunt of Jacob Fortuna of Grand Ledge, Michigan, Charlotte Renninger of Evergreen, Washington, and Chelsea Renninger of Columbus, Ohio, as well as her Aunt Clare Reese of Missouri, uncle William F, Walkenhorst IV of Chesterfield, Misouri and many cousins around the country.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 18, 2 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, Michigan. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday. B, Suite 110, East Lansing, MI 48823, in memory of Diane.
