Douglas A. MacArthur

Born March 7, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Nyland and Bernice (Bartle) MacArthur, passed away on October 1, 2016 at the age of 80. Douglas proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was an MSU fan. He worked for the State of Michigan as a Senior Insurance Investigator for 40 years and was on the Lansing Traffic Board for 10 years. Douglas also ran the Volunteer Cancer Center for Sparrow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and loving wife; Mary Lou. Surviving are to cherish his memory are two sons, Allan (Michelle) MacArthur, Scott MacArthur (Laurie MacArthur Garza); 6 grandchildren, Chad, Andrew, Alyssa, Victoria, Cynthia and Olivia; 2 great-grandchildren, Sophia and Matthew; brother, Mike (Kathy) MacArthur ; sister, Sandy Wills; sister-in-law, Shirley Miller; and many close friends.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823 with Paul Hahm officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Sparrow Foundation, Cancer Research, 1322 E.
