Reinhard was born March 30, 1945 in Hamburg, Germany to Walter and Elizabeth Klaus, passed away September 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walter; sisters, Elizabeth and Elfriede.

His loving wife was born November 22, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Andrew and Stella Kania, passed away September 24, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents.

They are survived by their children Kimberly and Richard (Andrea) Klaus; grandchildren, Brendan, Lukas, Isabelle and Adelaide; Reinhard’s sister, Anita (John) Becker; and Elaine’s brother, James (Marcia) Kania.

Reinhard and Elaine’s lives were built around each other and their family. They were active members of St. Martha Parish, enjoyed spending time with their dogs and recently retired from BCBSM. Reinhard and Elaine will be missed by all who knew and loved them.

The family will receive friends at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 30, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martha Parish, 1100 W. Grand River Ave., Okemos, with the Rev. Jonathan Wehrle officiating, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rite of Committal will be held on Tuesday, 2 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Chicago.
