To know Liz was to love her. If she wasn't yelling at you, she was loving you☺︎. Liz enjoyed many things in her life, like shopping, watching her all-time favorite movies, The Fast and Furious series, but most of all, her time with her family. She loved playing games on her phone and iPad... pretty sure she kept iTunes in business.
Liz worked for the East Lansing School district for many years before eventually retiring. Liz attended Okemos High School where she was on the swim team. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and daughters, taking trips to Missouri and countless trips to Texas. Fred and Liz would often pack a bag and hop on their motorcycle and take off for the weekend or sometimes weeks at a time. In the summer, you would catch her on her deck under the umbrella, laughing while smoking her Virginia Slim, being entertained by whomever would stop by to sit and visit with her.
Towar Gardens was its own little community, where everyone knew you or was related, so with that being said... the house on the corner of Birch Row was always the favorite Halloween-must-stop-at for Liz's giant candy bars, and if she liked you, then you might get two of them.
Liz shared an unspoken love with Fred - one that could never be matched. Yes, they had their fights, but they loved more ♡. She had a very special bond with her first-born grandson, Andres, her first boy, you couldn't tell her anything about her "HANK"... if you asked her, he walked on water. Boy oh boy, was he a spoiled rotten one, but she would have it no other way! Then along came baby Nate... double trouble, her two boys. Oh yes, she had other babies she spoiled, but her boys were her life!! Nado and Rico came into the world and we all know she had her "4" grandsons. They all walked on water in her eyes and no matter their age, they were always her "boys".
Liz had a beautiful relationship with her youngest daughter, Monica, whom she loved and cherished. Monica was always there stepping up and helping our mother whenever she needed her - no questions asked. She would often put her life on hold to make it happen. The bond they shared was very special and one that my sister, Monica, will cherish forever.
Liz was loved by so many and also made so many feel loved. She will leave behind memories of her kindness, love, and her generosity.
PS. A very special thank you to Yaya and Reese for loving Grams the way you girls did and always helping her in any way you could. She loved you so much and was very happy to have you as family ♡.
So, as we send her off for her final ride, do not be sad. Remember the love she gave or even the yells she yelled at you!!
Thank you, Momma, for everything that you gave us in this lifetime. You will forever be missed and loved ♡. Always know that I am thankful for the life you gave me and the love that was never far away.
Your sun set on January 12, 2026, but your light will shine on for eternity. Love, LisaMarie
