Gary Lynn Frever 78 years old passed away at home on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 peacefully surrounded by his family. Gary was born October 22, 1942 in Lansing, MI. He was the son of Lynn & Genevieve Frever. On August 17, 1963 he married the love of his life, Rosita Yerian; they were married 58 years. He was a graduate from Perry High School (Perry, MI) Class of 1960.
Gary is survived by his wife Rosita (Haslett). His brother Terry (Lake City). His children Bryon (Warren), Melissa (David) Ellis (Auburn Hills), Christopher (Lake City). 7 grandchildren Alyssa, Janaye, Jaxon, Collyn, Chandler, Ambria, Caedyn. 3 great grandchildren Jaylen, Jasiah, and baby Malakai on the way. Along with a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents (Lynn & Genevieve Frever), Sister-In-Law (Dolores Frever).
Gary was a very loving husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend. His passion was to make people laugh and to put a smile on everyone’s face that he met. He treated people with the upmost respect and honor.
Gary retired from General Motors after about 32 years. He started as a Tool and Diemaker for GM out of high school. As GM phased out his position he then moved onto Exhibit and Display where he spent the rest of his time with GM. He loved this position as he traveled across the country setting up and running the display and vehicles for Oldsmobile. After he retired from GM he continued to do the Auto Shows with Buick during the winter months and also working at multiple golf courses doing maintenance during the summer.
His passion was playing golf, if he wasn’t working or taking care of his own lawn you would find him on the golf course as he would only hit the ball straight down the fairway and was deadly with his sand wedge and putter. He would just smile and move onto the next hole leaving his opponent’s shaking their heads and wondering.
Gary loved being with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He made them all origami’s out of dollar bills. He loved being outside working on his yard and making his lawn look like a golf course. He would take the grandkids either on the mower or pulling them around with a trailer.
Gary left an impression on everyone he met as a very hard worker and loving person. All of us have many memories and stories about Gary.
