Age 78, died January 17, 2011; born July 13, 1932 in New Albany, IN to George and Mildred Graff. George had his Bachelor’s degree from University of Missouri, Masters from Purdue University, and his PhD from Ohio State University. He worked 29 years at the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and worked at Michigan State University in the Extension Service. George loved Michigan history doing a Michigan historical Sunday morning radio show for more than 10 years, and formally active in the Michigan Historical Museum. In the 60’s he published a book called “People of Michigan”. George was a long time member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. He was a military veteran and served just after the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann of 49 years; son, Wes (Patty) Graff; grandchildren, Amanda and Hannah.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 20, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Haslett, MI with the Rev. David Davis, officiating. Interment will take place immediately following at Gunnisonville Cemetery, Lansing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1-3 & 5-8 p.m. Those desiring, may make contributions to the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 5589, VanAtta Rd., Haslett, MI 48840 in George’s memory.
